Sleeping well Empty Sleeping well

Post by Maudethemotorhome Tue Oct 17, 2017 10:59 am

confused3           I have been reading some posts about finding comfortable ways to sleep in other vans. We have a similar problem with the Fairford. I sleep in the rear bed but due to the" lumps "at the edge of the seats I have poor sleep, I've tried a mattress topper from Argos but it split after I stored it in a bag that has the air taken out. Any other suggestions?            think_smiley_46

Sorry not much help as the beds in my van are excellent , my husband says he sleeps better in there than at home.

I  use a memory foam topper on the bed at home and find that very good, perhaps that be useful to you, perhaps not stored in that bag though.

Couldn`t you leave it on the bed,? if it also used as a settee you could keep the topper on and cover with a throw. so no storage problems and an extra comfy seat.

Yes the bag wasn't a good idea, we did leave the bed made up but It Wouldn't be used as a seat. We think the manufacturer should think about the "lump" when intending seats to turn into a bed.

Don't know how much help it will be, but on the odd occasion that we made up the front bed in the Bolero, we used to turn the seat cushions over so that the leg rolls were underneath and the cushion backs were flatter.

They were comfortable enough without a topper.

I used a thick memory foam topper in our old duetto.
We bought it in Asda. I folded it in half and rolled it up it fitted in the over cab locker with the duvet and pillows. Never had any splitting issues.

Thanks for replies, we have turned the seats over but a little concerned that the underneath isn't as hard wearing. Also there is very little storage in our van, I've already two double quilts to store and nowhere to put a large foam topper.

I use a Thermarest Trail lite air mattress. It is self inflating, and levels out the lumps for a good night's sleep, with the advantage that it takes up very little space.

I had similar problem in my stratford which has the same kind of setup. Are you rotating the cushions so the lumps are at the head and foot rather than down the middle?

We are going to try the lumps at the top and bottom next time we go away.        agree3
