Workshop Ramps Empty Workshop Ramps

Does anyone use workshop ramps to lift their vehicle to work on it? If so what rating are they. I can only find 2 and 2.5 tonne rated car ramps, which seem a bit lightweight. I suppose I could use levelling ramps but they don't lift the vehicle very high.

I suppose you could say that you're only lifting one end so 2 ton or 2.5 ton should be sufficient.I'm no Elf& safety officer though.

I used them when I had the Trafic, but I wouldn't feel happy using them with the Boxer.
I prefer to use axle stands.

I don't go under vehicles any more but when I did, I also used axle stands either with the ramps or after jacking up by trolley jack.

Unless a wheel is coming off I use the ramps, they spread the load over a far larger area than axle stands, important if you have block paving.
