Warwick Duo Cutlery Tray
I am just getting used to my new Warwick Duo and I can't help making comparisons to my old outgoing Symbol I have had since 2002.
My Symbol had a better plates rack that strapped the plates in, the new Warwick has a rack and I think the plates will rattle so I will need to get creative.
Also the Symbol had a cutlery tray and it seems the Warwick doesn't. However I know a few things are missing from my new van e.g. a table, I know for a fact it should have 2 tables and it hasn't so that is my first warranty claim, but I'm not sure about the cutlery tray.
Should a 2017 Warwick Duo come with a cutlery tray?

Without a tray, or other dividers, it is just a drawer.

The Kingham came with a cutlery tray and I can't imagine they would penny pinch to that extent, between models.
My thoughts are that there should be one.

Could you say where the tray should be?Wargenwolf wrote:The Kingham came with a cutlery tray and I can't imagine they would penny pinch to that extent, between models.

Is it just a plastic insert dropped in one of the draws?

Can't agree this time, although it's fairly obvious they have been penny pinching quite a bit in recent years.chrisk wrote:

A cutlery drawer will cost a lot more to make than just shoving in a threepenny plastic tray - as they used to do. In this case I think they have improved matters, even though they put the teaspoon section right at the back!!!

Our Warwick Duo came without a tray so we bought one and cut it to fit and suit us. Also fitted our own plate and cup racks. AS have very little practical knowledge of living in a motorhome and their friend AC (autocad) has even less

Re: Warwick Duo Cutlery Tray
In our 2014 Symbol we chucked out the plate rack as the plates supplied with the new Van did not fit the rack. We just stack plates in one of overhead cupboards and Inteleave with non slip fabric pieces. We have bought a cutlery tray to fit the drawer as the plastic one suppled was about 25 mm too narrow.
We have also bought a smaller free standing table as we found the one supplied was too large.
Whatever works for you don't be afraid to spend a little to make life easier.

If only they would ask a few of us for an input we could prevent them shooting themselves in the foot quite so often.

Dave, have they put yours in the wrong way round? Our teaspoon section is at the frontGromit wrote:Can't agree this time, although it's fairly obvious they have been penny pinching quite a bit in recent years.chrisk wrote:

A few years ago they did consult some ASOC members but it died a death. One of them Andy comes on here, can't remember his ndp.

I had to remove the whole drawer and take the tenon saw to it, then re-build it so it was functional.

Re: Warwick Duo Cutlery Tray
Thanks for all the replies. The impression I am left with is that a Warwick should be supplied with a cutlery tray in a drawer making a "cutlery drawer", but it is a rubbishy plastic insert into a drawer and that I would be better off making my own.
Do I have the correct impression?

Ignore my earlier comment then. I thought they had made a proper sectioned drawer unit instead of the usual threepenny plastic insert.AutoSleepyDon wrote:Thanks for all the replies. Making one to suit yourself won't be a big problem, and it will be how you want it - not how some nerd sitting in front of a computer decides you are going to have it!!!
P.S. I should add that ours does have a plastic insert, which is now in the right place and orientation, and it's quite good quality too.

Re: Warwick Duo Cutlery Tray
I think you will find that later model Warwick Duos do not come with a cutlery tray. Our 2016 model came without a tray and when you measure the "cutlery drawer" you will find it is nigh on impossible to find a tray that fits without modification. The drawer is narrow compared to other vans.
Like Roli, we had to search for a suitable tray to cut down to size. In the end we managed to find individual holders that link together.

It seems Hubert is correct.
I went to a local dealers with a few AS van conversions in stock today.
The Warwick Duo just had empty drawers, as mine does so it is not a build omission.
Next I went in a Kingham (what an interesting layout this van has but that's another topic) and I found this
My first thought was to get the insert (via warranty ofcourse) but it will not fit the Warwick Duo drawer which is 17cm wide (Kingham is around 25cm wide).
I should 3D print one to fit but there is at least one good reason why I don't.
Can anyone steer me towards an insert that will fit? (drawer is 17cm wide)

Doudt you will find one that small. Probably better to fit 2 or 3 vertical dividers direct into the drawer. Or find one you can easily cut down to fit.

Re: Warwick Duo Cutlery Tray
One other possible explanation for the missing cutlery tray. When we were looking through a van on display prior to buying ours in 2015 we questioned the missing tray and were told they take them out cos they get nicked. Cannot believe a potential AS owner would stoop that low, but anyway, when the van was delivered we had a tray! Maybe yours is in still in the dealer's store for safe keeping.

Thanks.
I think I see what you did. All I needed to do was google "small cutlery tray" but I would never have thought of that myself.

Yeah I went back to the dealers and went in various AS vans. I saw the draw in the Kingham, the Kingham draws are 25cm wide and the Duos are just 17cm so the inset would not fit.
None of the Duos in the dealers have such an inset so it appears AS don't fit Duos with a way of storing cutlery so I don't think it is worth me doing a warranty claim despite the specification stating "cutlery draw". I am just sourcing a narrow inset and will cut it and drop it in the top draw.
There was always the possibility that I was looking in the wrong place, my old 2002 Symbol had a tray that slid out from underneath the worktop, absolutely ideal. This is an area where I feel AS have gone backwards actually.
The specs also state "kitchen roll holder" and they don't have that either.
Also the plate rack is much much worse than the one in my 2002 Symbol which has custom wood fitting and a velcro strap to hold plates in place.
Also the plastic plates versus the china in the Symbol.
They just don't make them like they used to etc.
