So we can look forward to even more warning notices when the paint is eroding?  confused3

Signs that always make us chuckle are the " Formation de trous" on the A16 near Calais. Are they low- flying trous ?  How long do the authorities give them to form before putting up warnings about fully- formed trou  ?

How long before our own home grown Oxfordshire trous get their own warning notices ? Probably cheaper than filling them in.

My personal favourite on the A4 near Reading advises that the street lights are turned off between midnight and 5.00 am. I guess we might not notice otherwise!!!

One of my favourites is the tourism direction sign (several around the country) pointing to 'secret bunker'.

Exactly. A statement of the obvious if they are not on.......however I suspect the answer will be its stops people from phoning to report a fault.

Saw one that other day:
NO PARKING
GATES IN CONSTANT USE
I watched for several hours, the gates weren't used once.

I've just found this (tent only) campsite. I wonder if there are any sign posts to it?

The road may have a dog leg in it.  Where the rest of the dog is is anybody's guess.

I spotted a couple more interesting signs today.

On the A22 (closed at South Godstone) - Follow diversion signs, not your sat nav.

And on the Ann Summers factory outlet store - massive stock clearance sale.

I wasn't quite sure how to interpret that one.
