Cheap Cheap Cheap Towbar

Ordered Sunday delivered today, complete kit with 7 pin electrics., the description says 50 kg nose weight but the delivered item was 80 kg.
It's took 2.5 hours to fit on my own, but I haven't finished the electrics yet. The bar itself seems identical to others on E-Bay made of really substantial powder coated steel and is a perfect fit. All for £83.62[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Cheap Cheap Cheap Towbar
I bought my detachable towbar from PF Jones as well - they always seem to be good value.
On mine the electrics turned out to be by far the biggest part of the job (with a CAN-connected controller to change ESP and turn off the rear parking sensors when a trailer is connected, plus recoding of the electronic modules needed) - hopefully yours is simpler!

Looks good and I like the price.
Worth checking that you can still gain proper access to the spare wheel carrier. The basket might need some adjustment.
General note: Watling do a version with a 230mm extension to clear the rear step which currently retails at £168. Fitted one 20 years ago and still going strong.

Re: Cheap Cheap Cheap Towbar
Phew finished the electrics in ONLY 4 hours. I fed the lead up to the offside light cluster the then returned two down to feed to nearside indicator and rear light.
After two and a half hours I gave up as i just couldn't fish the lead up to the cluster I had to break into the loom and solder in the cross member, dread to think how I would have coped if it turned out to be can-bus too.
To finish the day I fitted a second battery under the drivers seat, after removing the metal tray I found a Gratnell box was just the right size to accommodate the two batteries.
So that's me done in, how the hell would I cope if I had to work for a living.
As I was fitting the bar I found the remains of the rear step that had been sawn off, plenty of clearance for the spare too.
