Too cheap ?
Hi everyone.
I am looking for a Topaz and just saw this add today.
I have viewed a couple but as a novice I would welcome your views.

Something's odd......even with 130k on the clock you couldn't buy a T4 Topaz for that price

I know nuffin about VWs apart from that they are at the expensive end of the market. Either this is a con or he's missed a 1 off the front.

My eyes are not good enough to see the registration number so cant do a search but the price certainly doesn't look right. These white models look great and will fetch good prices

Milage is high for the year but even so, sounds too good to be true in my opinion. If you do buy it keep us posted.

Re: Too cheap ?
Reminds me of the stressful night when I found our van, which we had just bought from Wigan, (and were waiting for the log book to come back from the DVLA) advertised on Gumtree for sale in Bristol, for half the price we had paid for it....It was a scam, of course!

Re: Too cheap ?
You've only got to google '2006 Topaz' to know that the going rate is £22 - £24k for a low mileage example, even with that mileage it should be no less than £15k.
Here's the original ad on Ebay

and here it is highlighted on a scam awareness website

can't believe you're asking really.

Yes, having seen the second ad I reported to Freeads last night.
Hopefully will be taken down and avoid any one being scammed.

As a point of principle I will not buy anything from someone who advertises only via an untraceable mobile phone number. I need a verifiable mail address and a landline number, a mobile is OK in addition to a landline, but not on its own.

There are undesirables on both sides of the fence. Once you've posted your landine number or your home address on the internet for the whole world to see (not like your local paper) you leave yourself open for all kinds of spam, harrasment and possibly even theft.Spospe wrote:As a point of principle I will not buy anything from someone who advertises only via an untraceable mobile phone number.
