Warning message on Sargent control panel
Hi
I've recently bought a Kingham and I've had a warning message appear after wild camping. A red triangle appears with an alarm when I insert the ignition key in the morning and a message saying vehicle battery voltage low. As if I've been only using the vehicle battery to power everything all night. I've had an extra 115ah battery fitted and I have a solar panel fitted. The battery selection is always set to leisure so this is puzzling me. I never use hook up and I wild camp a lot. But I'm now worried I may get stranded miles from anywhere. Any body any experience/thoughts on this
Thanks
Rob

Rob - when this happens, what vehicle battery voltage does the Sargent panel display? What vehicle battery voltage does the Sargent panel show now?

Our van does this when powering up after a shut down, despite showing a voltage of 12.4 or 12.5. I've ignored it

Re: Warning message on Sargent control panel
Our Warwick XL was doing this and was cured by changing the control panel(EC480) setting from Peugeot to Fiat.
I found that changing the setting from 'Peugeot', which you would automatically think was the correct setting for a Peugeot Boxer, to the 'Fiat' alternative option, made the difference. The relevant extract is copied below for information.
MH Vehicle Type
This setting is used to change the system from the standard Fiat configuration to one tailored to meet the requirements of Peugeot. When set at Fiat the vehicle battery voltage cut-off is set at 10.9V, a usable yet safe level approved by Fiat. When set at Peugeot, the vehicle battery voltage cut-off is set at 12.4V, a level stipulated by Peugeot to meet type approval. This basically makes the vehicle battery unusable because as current is drawn the voltage drops and the cut-off is triggered. We recommend that all system are operated on the Fiat setting.
Hope this helps.

That would explain it - daft really, as on most vehicles you would only have to be listening to the cab radio for an hour or so to drop a typical (few years old) battery to 12.4V!

Get fed up of turning my radio on as it cuts off after 20mins and cannot find a way of changing it, even turning the 20mins setting off does no good.. Nearly as bad as no dashboard lights, half the time you can't see the speedo.
