Re: Sargent control panel
First, turn the power off at the top left button on the EC51.
To remove the EC51 slide the bezel down (use your finger tips in the middle of the bottom bezel) and slide down whilst pulling slightly outwards (sounds more complicated than it is).
With bezel removed undo two short screws that hold the unit in place and pull the unit out.
Remove the three or four (I forget which) connectors from the back of the unit.
Reverse the above to replace.
Job done!

Hi Rich
In answer to your next question ( ) the connectors are all uniquely shaped, so you won't be able to put them back in the wrong place.
I had to remove my panel once, and went out with little stickers at the ready to place on the leads. Felt a right twerp when I realised I had just solved a non-existent problem!

Re: Sargent control panel
Not as far as I know Rich.
To be safe you could switch everything off, including the main Sargent charger unit.
I had no problems when I did mine.
