Broadway Hot water pressure/pump issue
With the water pump switched on it frequently (every few seconds) runs as if losing pressure. We do not regularly leave it on - only while using the taps. When selecting hot water we get no flow other than a gurgleing for a minute or so before flow commences. This occurs after not using the hot water for a relatively short period.
Any advice on likely cause would be most welcome!

It sounds as though there is a leak in the system. I guess you are referring to the submersible whale pump in the fresh water tank? If so, I am not an expert, but all I can say is, consider having a Shurflo pump fitted. Mark at AS arranged for us to have one fitted at the beginning of June. Works a treat. Best thing we did!

Thanks Pete. No sign of water leakage. At last Habitation service we were advised that basin tap had a leak but I can find no sign of water egress. Could the problem be caused by air ingress? Pump type and position I am unaware - cold supply is fine.

Re: Broadway Hot water pressure/pump issue
Are you using the pump while on mains EHU ?
If not could it be that your pump is not producing enough pressure on 12V to switch itself off by operating the pressure switch.
We had this problem and the cure was to adjust the pressure switch by turning it anti-clockwise about half a turn or so until it switches off normally and does not " hunt".
If you go too far the pump will not come on when you open the tap.

Thanks Quilter,
The problem appears to occur whether on EHU or not.
Where is the pressure switch?
Mind you it is not that the pump just tends to hunt but the hot water fails to appear for a while when the taps are open.

Hi Gef
Yes we have the same issue with sink, wash hand basin and shower - gurgling for a while before the flow. Even with taps thereafter switched off the pump still runs frequently - if we leave the pump switched on. It is as if the pressure is being lost on the hot water side of the system.

Re: Broadway Hot water pressure/pump issue
Perhaps a solution might be to completely drain down the system and refill again. When you've put in about twenty litres, open any hot tap until all the air has been expelled for the water to run smoothly no sputtering/gurgling. This confirms the hot tank is full, thereafter continuing to fill fresh water tank to capacity if so desired. May also be more functional and practical to leave the pump switch on the display panel. Apologies if my suggestion does not solve the problem. Regards

Where is the pressure switch?
On our 2014 Broadway EK the pressure switch is close to and in front of, the fresh water dump valve, under the driver's side bed.
It looks like a small white box with pipes coming in and out and a knurled ( white ?) nut on top. This is the adjuster.
The instruction manual has a picture and instructions as well.

Re: Broadway Hot water pressure/pump issue
Mark the position of the adjuster before you alter it.
They can be extremely sensitive, and you could complicate matters very thoroughly if yours is one of those.
Even breathing heavily nearby can sometimes affect the operation of the pump!! (I exaggerate very slightly here of course! )

Sound advice that man ! Ours is now ( touch wood, fingers crossed) working well after being a right pain whenever we were off hookup.
Have just put an indelible pen in my bag to mark it when we visit this morning.
Thanks.

Re: Broadway Hot water pressure/pump issue
I wonder if you have a slight leak from your dump valve if you could place a container under the outlet pipe you could find out. Just operating the valve a few times quickly could cure it.
