Broadway 2010 Noisy Water Pump
New to Autosleeper and just purchased a 2 year old Broadway Duo EL.
The water pump seems very noisy to me.
Pretty sure there are no leaks and have thoroughly bled the system.
Manual talks about possible filter clean and noise suppresion mounts.
Anyone advise where pump is and how to get to it.

noisy water pumps
Hi Backtrax,
I have had a look for the post(s) that Roli mentions but I cant find anything. However if the pump body is touching anything it could be causing the noise or if it is mounted on rubber feet end they have been overtightened, this could cause it to be noisier than normal, however having been the owner of 5 different MHs I have never heard of one that is completely silent.

Re Noisy Pump
Hi. I have a 2010 Broadway and I think that the pump is just normally noisy. It is located under the drawer under the wardrobe - and if you can find a way of getting the drawer out please let me know because it defeated me. You can still get to it with the draw in place but its a bit fiddly. I took my pump out (to adjust it) and it all fits together okay, so if you have to replace it you can do it yourself. Best of luck.

Thanks for that. I assume the front panel (with the hot air vents) under the drawer unit comes off to get access?
I have had both the drawers out but there is a solid wood panel under them.
To remove the drawers you just pull them out as normal then lift up then push down on the handle as you pull to maneouver the drawer side runner wheels over and under the stops.
But as I say there is little point cos under them is a solid wood panel.
Once you got access, what adjustments were you making?
Did you clean out the filter mentioned in the manual?
Were the rubber mounts ok?
Anyfurther info would be most welcome
Ken

Locating the pump
Hi Ken
I don't know if your Broadway is the same as mine (EK) but in mine there is a drawer under the wardrobe and above the heater. Between the wardrobe and the drawer is a lift out panel, so that when the drawer is pulled out you can lean over and access the area behind the heater.
All the water fittings were of the push together type, so taking apart and putting back together was quite easy. The pump mountings were all fine and the filter was clean (although I cleaned it out anyway). I needed to adjust the pressure switch on the pump because the pump was not starting when the taps were turned on. It all works fine now.

Broadway noisy water pump
Hi Backtrax, Our Ascot Shurflo is very noisy on start up.Investigated and found due to little space it is mounted on an interior wall under wardrobe base. You would think Autosleeper would realise it needs to be mounted on a solid surface.Could be the same in Broadway.

It is a bit agricultural on my Broadway as well - but no more so than the Lunar we had previously so we just ignore it nowadays.

Re: Broadway 2010 Noisy Water Pump
I have a 2010 Broardway EK and also think the water pump is noisy, but I really think this is just the characteristic of the pump. I do not think there is anything wrong with it, especially as it delivers a very good water pressure. I wonder how loud it sounds to the neighbours? That's my only concern. If it only sounds loud inside the van, there's not too much to worry about.Backtrax wrote:New to Autosleeper and just purchased a 2 year old Broadway Duo EL.

I think it sounds noisier inside the van as it is mounted inside a big boxlike structure under the drawer - can't hear much outside the van though.....

Any good wrapping Insulation foam, ( like that wrapped around water pipes ), around the body of the pump ?
This will deaden the noise a bit.

Re: Broadway 2010 Noisy Water Pump
Hi Peter, yes I thought of that as I was typing. When back from holidays I will investigate it, but I think that the wallboard that it is mounted on is also a bit of a sounding board as well.
P.S. kept up the open meeting record - finished 3rd at Burnham - the two guys ahead both had well over 16 stone on the wire, which is kinda helpful when beating in a 5 against a strong tide Pleased with boat speed though - acquired a lovely P&B main which is very quick.
