Re: DUETTO STEERING WHEEL LOCK
I would go with a Disklok if I were you. They are not cheap at c£100 new but you can find then for sale second hand for about half that. Just make sure that you buy the right size - they go from small/medium /large. I bought one second hand for my Symbol for £50 from a member on this site. Just keep an eye on the Items for sale section.PASCAL wrote:HELLO i am looking for a steering wheel lock for my 1997 DUETTO anyone recommend a good one ?

Re: DUETTO STEERING WHEEL LOCK
I bought a couple of these off eBay item # 350755577507 bright orange and very visible. Yes they are cheap but quite sturdy with a steel core. But as a copper friend of mine said 'visual is the key as if they want it they will have it but a good visual deterrent will put off most'.

The lock may have a steel core, but your steering wheel can be cut in seconds even with a junior hacksaw. Two cuts either side of that and it falls off.
You have remember thieves don't care about damaging things, so the steering wheel itself is the weak link with those devices. They'll even use the leverage from some designs to break the ignition steering lock which helps them with the theft.
For a steering lock I agree with Taurian and would only use a Disklok as it protects the entire wheel.

Re: DUETTO STEERING WHEEL LOCK
Our local Halfords only had one steering lock in stock, which didn't fit the chunky Ford steering wheel. So we bought a clamp for the front wheel, £35, which provides very obvious and effective security.

Hi Noggin, yes agree totally and as I mentioned it is a visual deterrent only and if they want it they will have it, determined thieves will drag it onto a lorry anyway the 's.Noggin wrote:Jaytee wrote:Yes they are cheap but quite sturdy with a steel core.
