Sandhurst Spare wheel
Has any one managed to fit a spare wheel to this model (VW 2008 Sandhurst)
We understand that not many Auto-sleepers VW 2008 Sandhurst were made. Does anyone know how many?

Re: Sandhurst Spare wheel
There are not many Sandhursts about and I don't know if we have an owner active on the forum at the moment.
You can see a spare mounted in a cradle below the back of one at the link below.

Re: Sandhurst Spare wheel
Hi,
We have just purchased a 2006 (56 Plate) Sandhurst and yes the spare wheel is on a cradle under the rear end of the unit.
Ours is n 2.5 V5 Auto and I have been told that only 28 Auto's were made. It's a fabulous Motorhome and is everything we wanted.
We owned a T5 camper for 4 years prior to this and really wanted to stay in the VW scene as we have made a lot of friends and my son organises a VW show so couldn't let him down.
We hope to make friends on this site also and look forward to many years enjoyment with our new Sandhurst.

Re: Sandhurst Spare wheel
Hi
Many thanks for your reply.
We have had our 2008 2.5 V5 Auto for 4 years. When we purchased the van it was 4 years old and had only done 1300 miles and you are right it is a fabulous Motorhome.
We have been told that the waste tank would get in the way of the cradle. Is the cradle on your van an Alko product or some other manufacturer?
We were told that only about 12 were made and we have seen 5 so far.
Also have your managed to fit a television in it? Ours is not convenient we have to get it out of its case if we want to view.

Re: Sandhurst Spare wheel
Hi,
Not sure if the cradle is an Alco product or not as I haven't had a chance to get underneath yet.
We have a fitted TV/ DVD and it's on a fitted bracket inside the roller cabinet under the drinks cabinet. The reception is really good , if you like I can always send you a pic or two to show how mine is installed.
Maybe we can meet up at some point and have a beer.
Nice to talking to you
Graham & Bev
Take care a
