weight
I'm about to purchase a 2016 Nuevo the MPLM is rated at 3300 according to the 2016 brochure
Can this be unrated to 3500?
It is however rated at 3500 in the 2017 brochure.
Any ideas

Re: weight
I did ask if i could have the higher rating when i ordered and was told no. I still suspect that his answer may have changed if i had been more persistant. In the end it didnt matter as mine came rated at 3500kg although it has the Fiat auto box so may be carrying a few pounds extra necessitating the higher rating.

Re: weight
Just wondering why you think you need the higher rating. Nuevos do have a very large payload . I know mine is an earlier model but even fully laden for a fortnight holiday it still has over 100kgs to spare.

I presume you mean uprated - slip of the digit no doubt.Eltel wrote:I'm about to purchase a 2016 Nuevo the MPLM is rated at 3300 according to the 2016 brochure

Yes it can be uprated to 3500kg quite easily, but in my opinion it's a bit of a rip-off, to say the least. Nothing we can do about it though, except to pay the money if we want the uprate!!
It's nothing more than a paper exercise, and all you get for around £300 is a sticky label for your door pillar and a certificate - plus you have to get your V5 altered by the DVLA (free). SVTech are the best known "converters" although I believe there are others. http://www.svtech.co.uk/vehicles/motorhomes/ As I said, we have no choice if we want to be sure we are legal, but I would advise you not to spend your money yet, in solving a problem you may not have!!
When you get the van, load it up in holiday trim and go to your nearest weighbridge - with your passenger assuming you have one. The rear axle is usually the most critical, but you may well find that you are within the weight limits for both axles, in which case spend the cash on something else.
Hope this helps.

Hi Dave
Thanks for your words of wisdom.
My last Motorhome on checking the documents was rated at 3750kg unknown to Lowdhams
The down rated it to 3500Kg at my request so my son could drive it on his licence
There was no cost to me
Annoying thing was my son has never driven the Motorhome and it costs me more to tax a 3500kg vehicle than one at 3750kg

Re: weight
On checking with Tim at Motor Plus at the Auto Sleeper dealer in Derby he confirmed that all new Peugeot chassis Nuevo EK are now rated at 3500KG and are plated as such.
It seems earlier Nuevo on Peugeot chassis were indeed rated at 3300KG
The confusion is that in the 2016 Autosleepers catalogue it's rated at 3300 KG and in the 2017 it's 3500KG
I've bought a late 2016 model but it is rated at 3500KG
Problem solved

Re: weight
Surely a catalogue error? On a lighter note, the 'Bank of Mum and Dad' is alive and well.
