Kemerton xL storage for chairs
hi it's me again new question for you.
Where do you store the outdoor chairs in the van and what type of chairs do you use as my present ones are two big I think.

I have one bag chair under the long settee, the other larger one for the boss, is between the offside rear door and the shower wall. Both fit perfectly.

Hi, did you just use self tapping screws for the hooks. Looking to do the same on our Kemerton XL, it seems such a sensible place to hang the chairs. Presume no probs with airing etc inside doors?

I manage to cram most of my outdoor gear in to a Thule roofbox

Looking at the layout of the Kemerton XL, I think the easy solution that I use for my Kingham would work.
I carry my two Dukdalf chairs, bungeed to the back of the driver and passenger seats.

Re: Kemerton xL storage for chairs
Our chairs are the type seen most often on camp sites, that fold into roughly a 1-metre column, square in cross-section. I strap them to the inside of the rear door that faces onto the loo and they occupy what is otherwise dead space. There’s enough space to accommodate 2 chairs side by side without impeding access to the loo or any other area of the rear shower room.
It did require a bit of fettling but was straightforward. I made a small ledge from aluminium angle, fixed it with self tappers to the bottom edge of the door, which is what the chairs sit on when stowed. I then fixed webbing bridges (google it) to the door at points corresponding to where the top and bottom of the chairs sit on the ledge. The chairs are then held in place against the door by tightening the fasteners on the webbing tie-down straps. I appreciate that a picture would make all this much clearer but I'm currently away (without the van) for another couple of weeks.
