tailgate reversing mirror
I have a 06 Symbol and previously had a Mazda Bongo, I found the tailgate reversing mirror a great parking aid.
Has anyone fitted a mirror to their tailgate and if so how did they attach it?

Re: tailgate reversing mirror
Why not go for a rear view camera, not that expensive and much neater?

They seem to be almost exclusively a Japanese thing - I can't recall ever seeing one fitted to anything other than a Mazda or one of the more recent Japanese vehicles such as the Legrand.
Milenco sell one, with a screw-fitted base, so you could screw one on where you liked. But as above, a reversing camera is neater, or a fresnel lens, which is much easier to fit!

I have a fresnel lens mounted on the rear window of my '99 Symphony; works a treat and was only a fiver or so. Nothing to go wrong either!

Thanks for your comments, I think a camera would probably be the best idea. I can't see how I could attach the mirror securely enough anyway. Charlie

Re: tailgate reversing mirror
I have both a reversing camera (Yada wireless with 5" monitor) and a fresnel lens on our Exec, and find them both to be only marginally effective for judging distance.
If a true HD camera was available, with the lens that suits me best and decent sensor performance in daylight (so CCD), I'd probably buy one.
In the meanwhile, I have been thinking about trying a tailgate mirror recently, probably attached to the rear ladder.
