I've seen that one before, and it gave me the willies then! It's bad enough walking along somewhere like that, but what about the poor sods who went up there with the picks, shovels, concrete & steel to construct it ?

Re: Clutch adjustment on Transit?
Hi there,
Just watched the video.
If the only woman in the world lived at the end of that path I would still be a virgin!
(Having thought about that statement; I wish to modify it to "affluent virgin"!!!)
Best regards,

That should get you far enough away from the motorway then Dutto...
Actually - been there, but didn't do that. My BiL has an apartment in Mijas Pueblo, in the hills behind Fuegirola, so I've seen a bit of this area. Thoroughly recommend it. There's some belting cycling around Mijas, but it is hilly, and the mountain biking is better than anything I've found in this country, including the Scottish trails. Camino Del Rey is in an area known locally (I believe) as the Spanish Lake District, about an hour's drive inland. It includes the village of El Chorro and is well worth a visit. Good cycling here too, on waymaked trails, and wherever there's good cycling there's good walking. When I was there there were plenty of motorhomes around; wild camping seemed to be widely practiced, and there's a main line railway station, restaurants/cafes etc too. One other place that IMHO is worth a visit is Ronda. Stunning position but the immediate vicinity is fairly flat so good for cycling. Googling El Chorro, and Ronda provides details.
Glad to read that the mechanicals are sorted, and look forward to drifting around southern Spain ourselves when I retire in Janary 2013. Not that I'm counting or anything...
Tony
PS - these are fabulous areas for wildlife, especially birds of prey. Whilst walking near El Chorro I counted three different species of eagle, and sat for hours watching hordes of vultures on their nesting/roosting ledges; AND saw the only live wild snakes I've ever seen - but ony briefly

Re: Clutch adjustment on Transit?
Tony,
Thanks for that.
This is third attempt at replying!! Don't know why failing - suspect local wi-fi aberration!
Have road bikes - thin tyres - no off-road.
For retirement try Bodeaux to Agde via canal paths.

Are those guys totally crazy??
Tickles me how he hovers over the holes in the path with the camera, and there's no way I would walk past those guys with those flippin great rucksacks on their backs either, can you imagine one of them stepping back or turning to the side just as you go to pass!! Yikes

We're off for a look next summer - only 65 miles from where we'll be based

Clutch OK after 250 miles!
Hi there,
Just like to report that the new clutch has managed over 250 miles without incident so I am hopeful that it is fixed.
We are now in Los Escullos on a camp-site that seems to be situated uphill from everywhere!!
Many thanks for everyone's help and we hope that whoever goes to see the scary footpath returns from the experience in one piece!
Thanks again,
