Spares for 1990s Autosleepers?
Hi All,
Having just returned from our first (largely successful!) trip in the A/S Trident, I realise there are a few little things I need to replace on the bus. Things like interior lights, the fridge travel lock, etc. and I just don't know where I should be looking for such things.
Should I be contacting Autosleeper direct? Or looking for a breakers? If the latter, does anybody know any?
Thanks in advance.
Charlie.

I can't comment on A/S but when I had a 20 year old VW camper ebay was my major supplier of spare bits. I would occasional visit our local car breakers yard but I only saw 2 suitable donors over a 10 year period. I did find a couple of VW breakers, again on ebay and one of them sourced me a very rare water pipe but it really is a matter of luck as to whether what you want is available or not.
Good luck, its always nice to see "older" vehicles being kept in running order.

Hi
There seems to have been a “micro” industry built up around supplying parts for camper/caravans and you’ll find several independent suppliers. It’s surprising how much is still available if you do a search.
Here are a couple of links that may be useful:

As for the lights I’d be tempted to fix the old ones or convert to LEDs ( loads of info on this forum), that said they are probably something like this (but watch the sizes):

I've run older vans previously and if you can't get new from A/S or a retailer such as Leisureshopdirect, Ebay is probably the best source of bits - though be aware that some caravan breakers ask silly prices for old lights/fridges/heaters.
The other light fitting that was extensively used was the Labcraft Trilite. As with the Lumo, they are very amenable to conversion to LEDs.

AS have a few older parts (on what they think is a deal) at the moment
I would also look at O'Leary Motorhomes who specialise in older parts for motorhomes. You should find there details in ads in ost of the mags
