Re: Peterborough Show
Chilly but no rain until monday, forecast from the bbc for peterborough. Plus it has been the driest spring for 20 years around here so I imagine the ground will be OK.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Largely dry with light winds and warm some sunshine over the weekend, but with some chilly nights expected. Becoming colder and more showery on Monday after some morning rain.

I was at the ground last weekend. Its dry and has been very dry for some time.
Might need a stand pipe if this dry weather continues.

Any idea of a day or time?
Maybe get 2 Typhoon planes. They often have chase me trips over Peterborough.

Re: Peterborough Show
Bit of a damp drive up to Peterborough this morning. Cold and dry when we got there and we froze eating bacon rolls for breakfast. Sun did put in an appearance from time to time but not really enough for me to uncover my rather shiny pate.
To be honest we were distinctly underwhelmed. If you were wanting to see vans there were loads to have a nose around but as we are STILL waiting for our Bourton to get from Willersey to our dealer (5 weeks on Monday since we were told the van had been built , which when I told somebody else this the said they had the same experience!!!) we only went in a few. We were after looking at accessories - new crockery, pans and odd bits and pieces but were quite disappointed with the selection - I can see more at the 3 dealers that are near us. Dogs were well catered for with lots of choice of leads, beds etc and there seemed to be plenty of country show tat. At mid-morning coffee a couple we got chatting to said that Peterborough was the best show of its type but it is unlikely that we will bother again.
Ended up not buying anything for the van but did enjoy the bacon roll and the giant danish pastry from the stall in the cattle shed.
Home again mid-afternoon beating the predicted sat nav arrival time by about 5 mins as M11 and M25 co-operated for a change.
Many apologies if I have offended anybody who is enjoying the show but each to their own.
Peter

Re: Peterborough Show
I think all the shows are getting smaller , all due to the exhorbitant pitch fees. You'd have to sell a lorry load of accessories to make enough profit to cover cost of a pitch. Motorhome dealers are paying between £25,000 and £40,000 for pitches, so they need to sell a lot of vans.

Re: Peterborough Show
Well unfortunately if you were home by mid afternoon
you missed 3 hours of glorious sunshine.
I would agree the number of small traders is decreasing
It's the same issue with the model railway exhibition s
ran by Warners stand rates are very expensive which stops
a lot traders attending
On the sane note a pint of beer is now £5 a pint
I'm sure last year it was £4 and the year before £3:50
Good weekend meeting many friends but not what it was
a few years back

Re: Peterborough Show
Told that a small pitch in the cowshed cost £800 - a lot for somebody selling a few dog leads or whatever.
Noticed that bacon rolls were always £4 each. Must be some sort of price agreement?
