Peterborough Show
Aint it flipping typical, decided today was to be load the van ready for the off on Tuesday stopping off on the way for a couple of days.
So what happens down in the West Country, its like someone is using a fire hose over my house and has been since 6.30 this morning it is slinging it down, Look on the bright side it may be better this afternoon.
One thing for certain (I hope) the boss will not want to buy a new van this time)
Is anybody else going to the show, we will be in the Tribby lines (long established member)
David and Maureen

It is quite normal for the Peterborough show to get some rain, go expecting it, if it doesnt thats a bonus - shame really as I think its one of the best organised outside events

We moved of Ferry meadows this morning (east) the site is almost full when we left, I had the ASOF flag up a pole for two days without anybody chaping the window, I did notice a New Nuevo and Broadway on the west side but the owners must have been on walkabout , it rained most of the night , hope you have your tow straps with you boys, nice and sunny and dry here in Henley .

Re: Peterborough Show
Reading reports on another forum, ground conditions are soft with some areas already unusable. Park downhill to make getting off easier and put bread tray bases or gripmats under your wheels to prevent that sinking feeling.

On MCC Facebook there were reports of vans being towed On and reports from the ASOC camping area sound bad, many pitches appear unusable

If any of you P/boro visitors are around the ASOC one of our forum members has laid a cardboard footpath to their van its that bad. Dont know where she got it from thought the traders would be using it all up

Re: Peterborough Show
I will never book Peterborough in advance. If I find I'm free that weekend and the weather fine, then I would just turn up.

Re: Peterborough Show
We're back home early, it was lovely there Thurday morning and afternoon, sat outside in the sun in our chairs for ages before the rain started!
Had to be towed off by tractor this morning, called for assistance at 9am, finally got towed off two hours later! Guy in a bessacarr Motorhome to our front right refused to wind in his awning to give the tractor access to tow us and a burstner next door as well as many others nearby.
Managed to get all the bits and pieces we needed on the Thursday so we were only really browsing after that, miserable for the dealers and stands

Just had a heavy hailstorm but some blue sky now. We arrived 7.30 pm and got parked on the carpark right next to the main hall .so no worry about the mud... We watched a range rover being towed out this morning .

Re: Peterborough Show
Well let's hope the 2017 MMM have better luck with weather.
I was with Knaus Owners last year and we were extremely luckiy in the pitch was well drained and I believe all but one Motorhome drove off without the aid of a tractor.
Although booked in on the Knaus owners section I will be hoping to meet up with a few Autosleepers Owners club members over the weekend.
