T4 Trident Heavy Bike Rack
Hello! Bought a Fiamma Bike Rack for our T4 Trident. The only problem is its made the boot too heavy to stay open even without the bikes on it. Has anyone found a solution? Was thinking of investing in some stronger hinges or building a leg that pops out. Ideas greatly appreciated!

SGS do an uprated gas strut for the T4 tailgate with a bike rack fitted.

I will get round to fitting those struts one day. Others on the T4 forum say the tailgate stays up even with bikes on the rack, but I've no personal experience of this.

...unless you use the rack a lot, I find it easier just to take it on and off when required, it only takes 10 minutes.
A trick I soon learnt is to keep the tailgate open slightly, wedge a shoe in it, makes it easier to locate the bottom brackets in, after hooking the top ones.
