Hi everyone from nervous newbies
We're Chris and Rose from Lancashire. We are such newbies that we haven't collected our 1999 Symphony yet. Pickup at 2:00 pm today with a lesson booked with the previous owner. My main worry at the moment is getting the van on the drive and then getting a few jobs done on the vehicle. We're both medieval 're-enactors in our spare time so this is a bit of a step up from a pavilion tent. I dare say this is the start if an interesting story, just hope there's not a lot of problems on the way.
Cheers
Chris.
Cheers
Chris.

Welcome to the forum from Selsdon. There is a lot of advice available from some very knowledgeable people. You will enjoy motorhoming. Much better than tenting at the Medieval Reenactments which I have seen and looks great fun. The only down side is you may find your van becomes a sort mother ship, attracting some who may want to come in for a cuppa if the weather gets a little inclement. Good luck with your hand over and ask lots of questions. Bob

Hi everyone from nervous newbies
Thanks everyone... We've just finalised the insurance so we're ready to pick up. I'll be looking for loads of advice and mostly in a blind panic.

Welcome, from South Wales.
You'll find this Forum to be very helpful.
After your first tutorial today, on handover, you may well forget some of the myriad bits of information about how things work, and what to do and not to do. Don't worry at all: just ask on this Forum!

Great to have you on the forum and well done on your first van.
Remember there is no such thing as a silly question only silly answers from time to time but no matter what you need to know someone here will probably have been there and got the T shirt so ask away!
Best wishes from sunny ( for now) Falmouth

And to emphasise what Cymro says don't ever think your question is too dumb. Everyone has had to learn what turn out to be the simplest things, but at the time are baffling. I'm still learning. The only thing we can't help you with is the meaning of life...unless it's motorcaravanning!

Hi Chris & Rose,
Welcome to the forum. I have a Symphony, its a bit older than yours but if can be of help, just ask.
I'm in Preston, Lancs and I would say that I'm quite local but to be honest, I don't know where Wentworth is

Cheers Frank and everyone. Did I put us in Wentworth? That should be Whitworth, if I can get into my profile I'll change it. We're home with the van with no mishaps apart from the window winder falling off. We now have a bewildering range of manuals instructions and a drive full of campervan. Andy who sold us the van gave us a sterling lesson in Symphony ownership, many thanks to him. The only problem is the weather here is so bad we're just looking at our van through the window.
Chris.

Re: Hi everyone from nervous newbies
Chris...you are now due for lesson one. Manuals, and instruction books provided are designed to confuse and bear only a passing resemblance to the vehicle you have. Slightly tongue in cheek but has a fair element of truth. Bob
