Thule 973 or Fiamma T4 bike rack?
Hi Guys,
I need to fit a bike rack to our T4 1993 Trident. Does anyone have any experience or opinion on the Thule 973 or Fiamma T4 bike racks? I haven't seen the 973 mentioned on this forum and just wondering if thats because its newer or just doesn't work? Ideally I'll be putting 3 bikes on there. 2 adults and 1 childs.
Thanks
Gary

Hi Gary
Welcome to the forum from Bridlington, I believe the Fiamma brand is cheaper than Thule, maybe that's why there is very little reviews on them?

Hi,
I have used Fiamma for many years(including a T4 Trident) and it is absolutely first class rack. Thule tended to specialise in the roof top racks which I have also used, but I have seen door mounted ones recently, and again the quality is excellent.
I would go for the Fiamma for your T4.
Cheers

Re: Thule 973 or Fiamma T4 bike rack?
I have a Fiamma "carrybike" designed for the T4/5. Max load 60Kg. Good design which is hooked over the top of the rear hatch and has plastic fittings to grip the lower edge. Also transmits most of the load through the frame to two feet which rest on the rear bumper.
I carry one bike and a luggage box or one bike and an adult trike.
The only disadvantage I have found is the impossibility of raising the hatch when the bike is carried.......unlike a door mounted rack which swings aside !

Thanks Guys,
I'll go for the Fiamma. Assume there's no problem with the ladder?
