Trident queries
Hi All
Wasn't sure whether to post this, here or in Technical section. Two queries:
1) Where exactly should the waterpump (Shurflo) be in my '54 Trident and how do I get at it. Autosleepers manual that came with the van just says "...situated behind the bottom rear panel on the off side unit." which I can't identify. Since it recommends disconnecting the pump over the winter and since some forecasters are reckoning this winter to be as cold / snowy as the last two and setting in in November, this is likely to become an issue fairly soon.
2) Did anyone else get two table legs for their main table (the one that goes into the hole in the floor just in front of the bed) when their van was new, one about 4 - 5 inches longer than the other, otherwise identical? There was a three-legged Fiamma foot with the van which allows the table to be used out of doors - could this have come with its own leg?
Yours in puzzlement

Re: Trident queries
Can't really comment on a Trident as we have a Symphony but our water pump is underneath the false floor in the bottom cupboard under the cooker.
As for the table leg(s) again I can't say what would have been supplied but to use the tripod base you do need a shorter than normal leg otherwise the table would be too high to sit at. We didn't have our MH from new but when we got it we had two table tops, small and large but only one leg. We bought a tripod and managed to get a short leg for it, I believe they are extremely hard to find. To sit 4 people inside at the tables , you do need two standard legs, presuming you have two floor sockets, so it depends if you're ever likely to sit 4 down at the tables inside, whether you get a second leg or not.

Re: Trident queries
Hi sgiand
The sureflo pump is behind the panel where you keep the porta potti.
Just take the 4 wood screws out (protected by plastic screw covers) then pull the carpeted panel out and you will see the pump.
As for disconnecting it- I wouldn't bother. Just drain the system.
You only get the long chrome table leg with the Trident. I got the short leg along with the Fiamma tripod off ebay.
Cheers

Re: Trident queries
Hi Stevo
Thanks for your response and sorry to be so dim but do you mean under the floor of the Porta Potti cupboard, since the fridge is on one side, the cupboard with the gas isolator taps is on the other and the back wall has the electrical panel? This has three small woodscrews along the front edge along with two plastic fixings covered by plastic covers about the size of a fifty pence piece (not sure they are for or what you're supposed to do after you take the covers off as the bit underneath definitely isn't shaped to take a screwdriver). There are also four screws at the corners (quite large, cross headed, a bit like the ones used in flat pack furniture), again with plastic covers. Don't want to start taking that lot out until I'm definite that I'm in the right place.
Thanks also for solving the two table legs conundrum.
All the best

table legs
Hi sgland
I dont own a trident but I would suggest that the shorter of the 2 legs is to use with the tripod outside. Try eating a meal while sitting in a folding chair with the table fitted with the long leg, the table is up around your chin.

Re: Trident queries
Hi sgiand
The pump is definately not under the cupboard floor. Is your Trident a T4 or T5 ? The pump will be in the void behind the kitchen units. Maybe on 54 plate Trident (mine's 52) they've moved it slightly. Try looking behind the adjacent cupboard
Cheers

Re: Trident queries
Hi Stevo
Thanks again. If it's behind the units how on earth do you reach it through the small space of a cupboard far less work on it? Have you ever had to tackle it yourself?

I thought we had leak so took both back panels off to inspect and that's when I saw the pump- Turned out we had just spilt some water so there was no problem.
I thought it was reasonably accessible at the back there
Good luck and if i have time over the next few days I'll post couple of pics that might help you
Cheers
