Symbol Air Suspension Failure
I own a Symbol 2013 model on which the air suspension has failed. Taking it to the garage I have been informed the suspension air bag is chaffing on the mounting brackets resulting in one bag being punctured and the other one showing signs of chaffing and will eventually fail.
As this is a wear and tear problem it is unlikely to be covered by the warranty, which points to a replacement every 2 years or so.
The base vehicle is a Peugeot Boxer.
Has anyone else experienced this problem on any of the more recent Auto sleeper range?

Re: Symbol Air Suspension Failure
Normally caused by AS fitting the Alko AirTop units incorrectly.

This is the link to the page that maricardo mentioned:

If it does turn out to be the case that Auto Sleeper fitted the air bags incorrectly, then you would seem to have a good case for having them replaced free of charge. Have you tried speaking to AS directly and asking?

Re: Symbol Air Suspension Failure
The AS service department know all about the problem, they fixed our Warwick Duo in 2011, but there does not seem to be any way of eliminating it even years later...

Re: Symbol Air Suspension Failure
It seems the problem occurs when the air suspension is allowed to go flat. I have been advised to check levels weekly. After passing on useful advice from you all to the local garage they assured me they were fitted correctly.
Well done to AS who managed after my phone call on Friday managed to send them to Scotland to arrive on Saturday morning and at a cost including carriage way below any other supplier.
Thanks guys for all your help and advice

Nice to hear that you got sorted out and that AS did the right thing. Just out of interest, what pressure do you run yours at?
