Hello from Prospective Pollensa Owner
Hi,
Our names are Rick (39yrs) and along with my girlfriend Helen (?yrs.) and our four legged toddler Woody (6yrs) (JRT), would like to say a big hello and hopefully either this weekend or very soon at least we will be the owners of a Pollensa.
We live in the lake district, Cumbria and have been searching and looking over a lot of differing models, styles and sizes of motorhome and have come to the conclusion that the layout is the one we will be most happy with.
Its taken a good few months to wheedle out what we don't want and now that we have settled on an item of choice we are going to go for the plunge and get one.
I will be searching through the relevant stories and posts on here over the following weeks and hopefully this will make our virgin journey into this adventure a little less painful
It is after all a fairly substantial amount of money to be paying out on a lemon. And if we do buy one that has an issue or two that we didn't know about it will be good to get the full blown knowledge of seasoned users as help and advice.
so in a nutshell, we three are newbies and hopefully will own one soon. wish us luck with our purchase and will let you all know what we end up with.

Hi Rick and Helen, Welcome to the forum! You've obviously done the research so you probably know most of the pitfalls to look out for. My advice would be don't buy the first vehicle you see- there are plenty out there in excellent condition, many with low mileage too. Take it steady, and good luck!

Cheers Rich,
we have been out to a lot of Motorhome venues and sites, plus a few private sellers and found a few, well, horror stories. we have settled on definitely buying from a dealer due to the mot, service, habitation service and warranty that can be supplied in most cases.
this being said, if the right one came up after much searching without luck then we may seriously look at those too.
its been an absolute minefield and a lot more work than first anticipated, although going to look at these things isn't a chore in itself, the dealing and wheedling out the good and the bad is some work I have found.
we have had a few unscrupulous ones trying to hide rust or even cup sized holes with cardboard and Shultz hehehe, but as I'm a qualified mechanic and qualification technician I can check out the majority of things before ending up with a lemon hopefully.
We look forward to owning something for a long time.
Rick

Hi again,
Sorry but just in case we do buy this one at the weekend and I want to post stuff about the experience, which slot do I post to, is it the Coachbuilt or Monocoque site?
Cheers
Rick

Pollensa is a 'coachbuilt'.

Re: Hello from Prospective Pollensa Owner
Welcome from Berkshire from fellow Pollensa owners.
Our 2002 Pollensa was our third motorhome, bought in 2004 and kept since, as we haven't seen anything newer that we like or that is as well built. The only down side we had was the rear facing seat back stopped the driver's seat from going back far enough for me - I'm 6' and also like to have the seat back reclined quite far. However I designed a modification which I had carried out by Autosleeper, although it would be fairly easy if you're adept at DIY - if the driving position is an issue for you let me know and I'll link to some photos.
Our daughter used to sleep in the overcab bed, however now she's grown up she no longer comes with us so I've removed most of the bed gubbins apart from one retaining section and now have big enough storage for my inflatable dinghy and outboard motor.
If you need any help then please don't hesitate to ask.
cheers
Roger
