TV supply in Surrey
HI All
On taking advice from you all I am going to fit a new Flip Down TV in my Auto Sleeper Surrey. I have the Aerial Plug and a 12V supply where does the 12v come from it is on a proper lead not made up,there surely must be a mains adapter hidden somewhere
thanks Alan

Re: TV supply in Surrey
The TV should have been supplied with both a mains and 12v supply lead. You should have at leat 2 12v sockets in the van.
It is possible the 12v lead has a cigar or DIN type plug on it and not the normal caravan 2 pin 12v lead.
Options open to you.
- Get a cigar lighter socket to 2 pin plug adaptor (most
caravan/motorhome accesssory shops have)
- Take the cigar lighter type plug off and put on a 12v plug
- Make up a new dedicated lead

HI think this is relevant to your MH. http://www.auto-sleepers.com/media/2014/12/Surrey-Northants-2009-handbook.pdf
See page 7-27 , shows the 12V for the TV coming from the TV booster.

I wouldn't be too surprised if the wiring is essentially the same, its not a million miles away from diagram for my 2002 Pallermo, whose 12V feed for the TV comes from the signal booster. After all it makes sense for a manufacturer to do the same things in the same way across all processes.

I presume you mean in these leads are above the passengers head in the cab and not any other 12v socket elsewhere. I don't think a mains adaptor is involved, the tv we had worked straight off the leisure battery when the 12v was on the control panel as did the aerial booster. Does that 12v supply not work?

Hi
Yes those are the leads I mean,as the black 12V lead is preformed with a plug on the end of it I just want to know where it comes from,is there a mains transformer hidden somewhere,or just where does it link into the 12V supply

Alan, simplest way to answer you question. Does the TV work when not on EHU? If so it has to be fed from the 12V supply.

Re: TV supply in Surrey
Surely all vans of this era had the 12v socket fed from a 10a fuse on the distribution board. This could have been shared - e.g. with the aerial amp.
The schematic referred to (7 - 27) shows this to be fuse No.9 rated at 10a.
