Autosleeper Surrey
Hi
this may be classed as a technical question, but the Surrey is only on a MWB sprinter chassis but it comes in as 3800kg any one any ideas were it gets it,s extra weight from,In the future I may need to replate it down to 3500kg but do not know what other problems that may bring

Their is couple of options on this chassis and there has been a few debates on this elsewhere. Peter has the info and will probably explain to you

Re: Autosleeper Surrey
It is not extra weight, but extra capacity to carry weight, ie suspension components uprated. You asked about similar before, see https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com/t13408-autosleeper-surrey
You could get it re-rated to <3500kg and still have a reasonable user payload.

Hi All
Sorry for seemingly asking the same question twice but I was just wondering why Autosleeper had chosen to give the Surrey such a high payload and in doing so restricted who can drive it
regards Alan

Re: Autosleeper Surrey
Because its better than the recent scenario of trying to get vans down to 3500 and then finding that the user payload is so low that the van is unusable.
After struggling for a year, one of my acquaintances gave up, had the van replated to 3800 and had the medical so he could drive it.
