1997 Duetto wheel arch/body repairs required
Hi All,
Does anyone know of a specialist repairer that can replace the wheel arches and estimate for the rest of the body repairs on our mk5 Transit Duetto (poppy) we are based on North Lincolnshire and I am looking for someone that has camper repair experience rather than a car repairer in case any of the interior has to be removed to weld it!
I would like to use somewhere that has been recommended by someone who has had similar work carried out!
Graham

In the absence of other replies, there are a couple of threads here that might be of interest. You could private message these members to see which welder they used.

If you're thinking of going to a "camper van" specialist, I would suggest getting a quote as well from a car body repair firm, as I've heard that some specialists charge a very large premium for their (supposed) camper van knowledge.
When I had my Mk.5 Transit based van done I went to a car repair place and removed the internal furniture parts myself, which really helped to keep the cost down.

Hi there,
I would PM Dave 418.
He has had extensive work done to his Duetto and is in your area.
Hope this helps.

Just do a few more posts then !!!
Seriously though it does depend on where the repairs are carried for example front wings, I wouldnt bother do part panel repairs as you can still get Transit wings easily. Regarding the rest, all welding now on bodywork should ipbe done with the mig process and there is little heat dispersment either side the joint so an interior strip out may not bebe as major as you fear
