Not the cigarette lighter
Could anyone tell me what the 'thing' is on my dash that is round looks like the cigarette lighter but says max 180v on it.

Are you sure it says "Max 180V" and not "Max 180W"? There are several alternative 12V socket types, and if it were to say the latter, this would tie up with the typical current limit of 15A. Can you post a photo?

It is 180w. It's the one straight under the gear stick. What would I use it for. This is not my van but same as. Found the photo on google

I have the same as well as a cigar lighter. It accepts a cigar lighter plug to run 12v accessory up to 180w.

I plug a 3 way extension into my 180w socket, and this is mounted on the top of the dash and provides power to my sat-nav, reversing camera monitor, and in-car cam. It'll also charge any other device via the USB's.
