Problem retracting electric step
Hi All,
I have a 2013 Bourton with Thule Omnistor electric retracting step. The step has developed a problem where by when it retracts, at the end of it's movement it judders for a few seconds as if struggling to "home" fully. If, sometime later, I then start the engine with step housed, it judders again when it would normally try to house, as if it were not housed although it is. On inspection it appears to fully engage the switch that it depresses when housed (to the left, outside of the mechanism).
On return from France last week, the "step not housed" alarm started sounding intermittently when on slightly uneven road surfaces. I gave the step a firm push which seemed to resolve the problem on that occasion. Anyone know what's going on with it?
Thanks in advance guys,
Lee

Re: Problem retracting electric step
Steps get loads of dirt grime thrown up on them from wheels. Accumulated grime make be what's preventing it closing that little bit. Give the whole thing a thorough clean and see if it makes any difference.

Re: Problem retracting electric step
Same problem on my 2015 Broadway when I picked it up. I was informed it was a faulty motor. They chnged to motor 4 times in the afternoonbefore it worked correctly. It was OK for a month then started again. Rung MQ up and was informed it was a known problem and they will be changing all steps. Taking mine in early next week for it to be changed. Will post back when job completed
