Proper name - door bits and bobs 'well'?
My 1998 Boxer has a large 'well' on the door interior, useful for keeping things in. There isn't one on the passenger side and I want to go to Peugeot and see if i can get one, but what's the proper name for it?

Door pocket?
Found a previous enquiry on another forum and a supplier is ...
Essanjay of
Unit 2 Sovereign Business Park,
48 Willis Way,
Poole,
Dorset,
BH15 3TB
telephone 01202 683608
do the genuine manufacturers part complete with fixings (which are specific to the vehicle not just self tappers) at a far cheaper cost than the main
dealers.

Yes fitted one to mine. All the fixings are in place, you just have to 'poke' the fixing screws through the door lining.
Got mine from main dealer.

Got this 'do-da' for mine (£5.00) from ebay.
It was mucky so I sprayed it satin black.

Excellent value! What did you use as a search term to find that on ebay?

An update - I phoned Essanjay and a Peugeot main dealer. Neither are able to get the door pockets any more.
Those of you with a passenger side pocket, are they, fixing positions aside, the same as the driver side one, ie if I source a driver side one could I hack to fit?

Re: Proper name - door bits and bobs 'well'?
On our passenger side I fitted a smaller one higher up, as I find the bottom of the original ones a bit too low, so can't answer your question about whether they are identical. They do make a range of sizes though:

But going back to the original Peugeot ones, surely a UK passenger side on a French manufactured vehicle would actually be a driver's side on a Continental equivalent vehicle anyway.
Are those not still available either?
cheers
Roger

If I remember correctly the door pockets on these Sevels are handed. I added one to my 2001 Ducsto. Fiat dealer was cheapest and Citroen most expensive back in 2002.marc4242 wrote:An update - I phoned Essanjay and a Peugeot main dealer. Neither are able to get the door pockets any more.

Sorry to jump in ....
Sevel is an acronym of "Société Européenne de Véhicules Légers", established in 1978 by PSA Peugeot Citroën and Fiat for a joint venture of factories building cars for both carmakers.

Re: Proper name - door bits and bobs 'well'?
The advantage of using the correct pocket rather than the Fiamma is that it fits to existing holes in the door frame. I seem to remember that I did not even have to remove the door trim. But don't hold me to that. I cannot remember whether the spire nuts were in place or if I did have to remove the trim to pop them in the holes.
By the way, that vintage of Ducato/Boxer was VERY easy to break into with just a bit of wire from a coat hanger. There is a post from me on this forum showing how I overcame this weakness without the complication of extra locks.

The fixing holes are already in the door panel.
There is an Autosleeper Ideas Sheet produced for this mod.

Yes I see that Ron, but I'd rather if we had to be broken into that there's not damage involved; if I secured the doors in the way I've heard done then the ****s would just choose a different entry point; so we just make a point of always carrying our valuables away with us.

Thanks for that link PB that's an interesting looking club although I hope it's not paper / post based, the website itself doesn't look very interesting at first glance.

On my 1995 Harmony, the key thing was that whilst the holes in the door were already provided, the expending nut inserts were not. Accordingly, to do the job properly, it was necessary to fully remove the interior door cards along with window winder, arm rest etc which made the job a real fiddle. The hexagonal expanding nuts (PSA 691350) also required high force to get them to expand. OK knowing what I've learned in the last two decades I might go about it differently, but at the time I recall struggling.
The door bins were not handed - same on both sides.
Overall though it's been one of the best adaptions I ever did to the van.
