HDi 2 litre fuel consumption
Hi, I've just bought a 2003 Symbol with 44000 miles and an HDi 2 litre.
I was disapointed today to find I only got 29 MPG from 65 litre over 419 miles.
I did discovered though that the first 330 miles were driven on only 44psi tyre pressure!! The dealer got it wrong even with the full service.
Still, I don't imagaine that this would make a huge difference??
On top of that I ran the eberspacher for 1 hour on full which should only have consumed .28 litre.
Can anyone give me their figures?
Regards, Fredreick

Thanks Ploughin but this table does not cover the Hdi 2 litre.
The closest is the 2.2 litre 2004.

There are a couple of Nuevos 2.0HDI listed, 2003 & 2004, 31& 29 mpg respectively. Close enough for you?

Hi
When I had my 2004 Symbol got around 34 mpg at speeds between 55 & 60. And around 27 mpg at speeds between 70 & 75.

I had a Nuveo 2005 with that engine. Had it for five years and travelled 19k miles. Always in the range 29/31 mpg

Well it seems that my 29mpg is about average for a 2 litre HDi.
Thanks

Same here, around 30-32 mpg. And my tyre pressures are, according to Continental 45/50 Front/back. I had the van weighed and emailed Continental with the figures. (Actually 43psi front/47psi back) Same year Symbol 47000+ miles.

Re: HDi 2 litre fuel consumption
Wow, those tyre pressures sound really low.
I would have thought they should be around 55 rear and around 60 front.
