towing with a ford duetto
Hi all.. I am a new Duetto owner year 1996 automatic.. Does anyone know what weight I could tow with this vehicle please.. We have tried camping in it but find it a little cramped with two people, two bikes, two dogs and all the relevant paraphernalia associated with several weeks away.. Because of that we were hoping to pull a small lightweight caravan.. However, "Dolly Duetto" isn't very powerful (registration docs say td. but it doesn't appear to have a turbo fitted).. Any advice gratefully received. Dave Coull.

There is a weight plate on the vehicle, under bonnet or on door jamb. It should give 4 weights,
1.Max front axle
2. Max rear axle
3. max trailer weight
4. Max train weight.

Why not opt for a drive away awning.

Re: towing with a ford duetto
Thank you all so much for your early replies, but unfortunately I still have not understood the figures. I understand the first and second figures but the third and fourth are realy confusing me.. How can the Max train weight be half of the stand alone van weight? The trailer permitted weight is 1500kg and the Max train weight is 1635. How much weight can I actually tow? I think my age may have something to do with me not "Getting" this.. Sorry for being so thick.

Ignore my post above, old age memory not what it was.
This is a typical weight plate. Doesn't look like your van has any useable towing capacity if the figures in the other thread are correct.
