Hi Guys,
Newbie to the forum. Have had a Pollensa for 7 years on 2005 Transit with Durashift gearbox. Drives like a dream but I have come across
various reports on transit forums about how bad the gearbox is supposed to be. I have done 35,000 miles with no probs but wonder if anyone else drives one of these motorhomes and would be interested in any experiences or comments as I have become slightly paranoid think_smiley_46

I looked at one or two for sale when looking for an Automatic myself, but ended up with the earlier type automatic. I would not get too paranoid about reports on commercial use of the Durashift if you have had no problems that's you key.
I also drive a car that has had awfully bad reviews in the motortrade written by the likes of silly * Inappropriate Word * idiots who rave about cars that are not my cup of tea. I am very pleased with my car it suits me very well, so what others think is irrelevant. I am into my 8th year with problem free motoring with that. Reviews and the like are not that unbiased.
Cheers.. up!

I had a 2006 Transit with Durashift and had nothing but problems with it. Fortunately it was all covered under the Ford warranty but towards the end of the warranty period I decided it had to go. Twice it ended up being recovered by the RAC and taken to my Ford dealer for repair. In my two years of ownership it was off the road for weeks at a time, sometimes waiting for parts from Germany. Durashift is a complex electro, hydraulic, mechanical system and very few dealers understand how to fix it.

Saying all that I have heard from other Durashift owners that have been absolutely trouble free, some of them covering quite high mileages. I don't think that you should be paranoid about it, but just be prepared to dig deep if it goes wrong!

There a a number of posts on this forum about them if you can find them. Not all bad, I have to say.
