External gas bottle with a Duo
I have not tried it yet, but am wondering if it is feasible to have an external gas bottle (of whatever make) equipped with a regulator connected to the BBQ outlet of a Warwick Dup (or any 'van fitted with a gas storage tank).
I am asking because we may well find ourselves in countries where Autogas is rare / non-existent and am looking at ways of increasing our gas capacity.
On the face of it, the idea should work well provided we use propane gas.

Hi Spospe, yes it will work I've seen quite a few doing this in Benidorm. Just make sure you've got the correct regulator for bottle.
Make sure you turn bottle off before disconnecting from barbi point.
John.

Thanks to you both, I have not read this month's MMM yet (got it, but not read it).
John's point about turning the bottle off is all too true; as is not forgetting to pick up the bottle before driving off!

used the same method myself in spain...to repeat....make sure you have a regulator on the large bottle.
You can still use the barbecue point by making a T piece ( inserted AFTER the gas flow has been regulated )
very common by brits in spain...saves moving the van....however in 12 weeks of camping...... jan to end march... we did not use a full tank of lpg in our warwick duo.....most long term stay sites include 2 months electricity (limited , but sufficient usage ) free inclusive in the A C S I rate....most campers use electric grills or ceramic hobs...tefal £60 from amazon )
eg Marjal c amping close to Alicante
