Trooper rear side window cover
Hi
Please can anyone tell me where to get a replacement black plastic cover for the rear side window (where the wardrobe is). My 1996 Trooper had a black film on the inside presumably fitted before the wardrobe was fixed in place. This had deteriorated and broken up in the sun. I have seen newer models with a black plastic panel fitted on the outside.
Any advice will be appreciated.

The only place you would get a new one would be direct from A-S, as they were custom made for them - but I don't think they have had any for years. You might find one at a breaker's, but I wouldn't bother trying as it will probably break up when they try to take it off.
Have a search around earlier threads here and you will find others that have successfully replaced their failed film, though.

A cheap fix is to go to a car graphics firm and ask them to fix some black vinyl onto the out side of the window, had it put on my Trident and it looks good

....I had the same crinkled black film problem with some of my previous AS campers. A more factory-like remedy I used was for an autoglass place to take the rear side window out and put a very dark tint film inside, covering the same area as original. Cost me £85 (two years ago, mind) at Lakeland Windscreens in Kendal. They did an excellent job.
