Truma Gas Fire Autoignition
After reading the instructions in the Handbook and the Ultra Booklet I decided to change the AA battery in my Ultra Gas Fire, Just lift up slightly and pull away from the wall, What a laugh it does not say anywhere that someone might have added a screw to fix it to the wall. What a bodge job fitting, for a van costing in the region of £60 grand it is bad workmanship, this is my fourth AS but Never again. If you try to replace the battery in the igniter have a look for the small screw first.

Just curious, but could the screw have been added by a previous owner, or have you had the van from new?

Truma Gas Fire Battery
I bought the van as secondhand and I suppose it could have been fitted by the pevious owner but looking on a different forum on the net it appears that this is a common thing done by retailers to stop rttles but if the fire was fitted properly in the first place it should not rattle. but the number of annoying little things that are failing or going wrong I feel that it is either shoddy workmanship or poor quality equipment being fitted.

There is no retaining screw as standard and screws to stop rattles are fitted internally. Any chance of a photo of this mystery screw in location?

The spring clips were fine but the aluminium back was not very secure. Thank you Peter

We had two screws put into our fire from new as no one could stop the thing from rattling not even auto sleeper.
