Has anyone advice about jump starting - someone mentioned to me that this could harm the circuits on my 2009 Warwick. confused3

Thankfully it seems rare, but I've heard of permanent damage to ECU/body control modules on several makes of vehicle when jump starting.

If you're lucky enough to have the time and facilities to recharge instead then I would take that option.

If not, all you can really do is to follow the guidance published by a reputable organisation such as the AA, and keep your fingers crossed!

I agree.  If you blow up the ECU it will cost a fortune.
The terminal for battery charging is under the bonnet in a little black box marked +

When my Topaz had a flat battery I charged it through the mains hook up switched to "vehicle".
Not much help if you are on the road I know but the man at Autosleepers told me it is designed to do this safely.

You need to read your handbook.

i don't personally think its dangerous, but I have not had to do it for some time.

If you are in a motor break down club,ie AA. Get them to do it.

With reference to kenjones comment on switching to vehicle whilst on mains hook up. I cant see any facility for this on my 2001 T4 Topaz or am I missing something?

Seems to be only late(ish) models that have this facility. My 2006 has it, my 97 didn't.

Our 2002 Pollensa doesn't have the facility to charge the engine battery so we fitted a VanBitz BatteryMaster and this keeps both batteries topped up whilst on EHU, which we leave connected permanently at home.
