VW Hi-top trim
Just wondering if any of you guys n gals have replaced the trim that hides the join between the bodywork of the van and the hi-top? My trim has to come off for some welding to be done and I thought this would be a good opportunity to replace the tired looking trim.
My question is, can this trim be purchased anymore and, if so, would it be from Auto Sleeper direct or is there an alternative (no doubt less expensive) source? Also, do you think it would be a prohibitively expensive part?
Thanks in advance (or at least hope!)

As far as I know, from my Topaz days, same as your Trophy just newer, don`t think you can get the trim now, perhaps someone may know a source, It would be expensive, as I have found with my bumper.
The plastic panels on the side windows you will not be able to get those, as I enquired, two years ago, so check yours ,make sure they are stuck securely, where the screws are it can crack as plastic goes brittle with age, I re stuck mine with black sikaflex, messy put works well.
Good luck hope you can find a trim.
Regards,
Margaret

Re: VW Hi-top trim
It's a question that's been asked a few times before, and there is (IIRC) a whole thread from a couple of years back with photos of one being removed, if you do a forum search.
The way the trim is fixed does vary a lot from model to model though - on my Transit-based Flair it was secured with stainless steel stand-offs and plastic bolts. I think on most/all T4 based conversions it was screwed and stuck on, and very hard to get off intact.
As above, A-S no longer stock them for older vans, and IMO there's zero chance of finding an alternative supplier at reasonable cost, as it's a custom moulding.

Might be worth a try, though all of the ones that I've looked at before were vacuum-formed plastic, not laminated. But for all I know, Cheltenham may do that type of panel as well as GRP.

Decorative strip
See my posts "Trophy Decorative Strip"
In the end I had the work done at Signs Express, Portsmouth, 02392 383821, who made up the strips and then fitted them. Excellent work.
