Possible speedo cable replacement Empty Possible speedo cable replacement

Hi all we have just got a 1995 Peugeot Boxer 270 swb Autosleeper Harmony, picked it up Wednesday as we drove it out of the dealership the speedo stopped working, I've tackled the dealership over the issue but they just say it's sold as seen but that's another issue pending,  as yet we haven't had a chance to check the back of the speedometer but wondered if any of you fellow MH owners know of any where to get hold of another one, or any suggestions that could help us out would be appreciated confused3

Don't bother with the cable until you have researched the problem of the plastic speedo drive gears in the gearbox.  These fail maybe due due to water in the gearbox but I cannot remember.  The water in the gearbox is a major issue.

Hi Pete  thanks for the heads up will be seeing somebody this weekend who can have a look for us and hopefully point us in the right direction, I've seen a couple of threads relating to the water and the engine so will definitely ask my friend to check it out

A couple of threads on speedo cables may help you eliminate a cause..

Hi with the help of you guys on here I tackled the problem myself first by checking the cable at the back of the speedometer and fortunately ( or unfortunately ) for me it was just a case of the cable had come off the dial so a bit of maneuvering to reattach the cable a bit of patience and I was able to clip it back on, took it for a test drive and hey presto we have a speedo again. Once again thanks to all the help that has been given.
