2005 symbol oven removal
Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the oven/grill leaving just the hob.
We do not use the grill & oven and would like to replace them with a cupboard.

Just use the oven for storage, bread keeps well in the oven.

I also removed the oven in my Talisman & left the hob in place, but fitted a microwave in its place, can't comment on you particular van, but in my case, opening the door reviled 3 soppy little screws down each side, removed these & she slid out, the gas & electrics where then accessed & disconnected.noggin28 wrote:Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the oven/grill leaving just the hob.

BTW, I mentioned '3 soppy little screws' as in MY case, the cooker is at the centre-rear, & if the van should have been in any sort of crash, this rather heavy 'lump' would have almost certainly have 'pulled' these & come hurtling down the centre isle.
Imagine the headlines, 'campers killed by oven'.

Hi Modelman, Don't worry, that will not happen. However you microwave may fall out when you stop.

Not a chance, THAT weakness was addressed during the installation, not only that, the microwave is about a third the weight of the original oven, so I'm more likely to get a smack on the back of the head from a tray of cutlery.mikethebike wrote:Hi Modelman, Don't worry, that will not happen.
