Symbol strip light covers
I think I must be as dim as one of my lights with a bulb gone but I can't work out how to remove the strip light cover in my 2005 Symbol so that I can fit a new fluorescent bulb. I'm sure it must be simple but instructions would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Re: Symbol strip light covers
At one end there will be a small (and it is small) indentation into which you insert a small screwdriver blade and lever it off.

Re: Symbol strip light covers
Many thanks for your suggestion. I don't know whether a different type of cover has been fitted but despite very careful searching I can find no indentation. There is a slot at each end but that would mean levering against the fabric. Any other help would be equally welcome.

I am afraid levering against the fabric is what you have to do. So as not to damage the fabric put a thin sheet of plastic (such as a credit card) between the fabric and your screwdriver.

Many thanks. I will try that later now I know it is the way to do it. Cheers.

Re: Symbol strip light covers
While searching for a solution I found an old post which suggested turning the end of a paper clip through right angles and then the tip of that also through right angles and using that to pull the cover away from the tab that holds it in place. I have just tried it and it works brilliantly and without the need to lever against the fabric. I will keep a spare bulb and paper clip in the van in future. Thanks for the idea whoever you were/are. :)
