AS Nuevo gas fire going out
just back from two months mainly on the Scottish west coast -where it can be just a little breezy and a couple of nights tried to light the gas heating which lit as usual then within a few seconds went out only to relight for a few seconds before going out again a cycle which repeated until I gave up and turned it off.
I got the impression - rightly or wrongly - that the fire was being blown out by the wind which on both occasions was hitting the front of the van (Nuevo MkII).
Is this a known issue and is there an easy fix (other than move the van!)

Re: AS Nuevo gas fire going out
There is an extension piece available as Trauma part that is quickly fitted
Have search and you should find posts that Peter, Murph and myself discussed this.
A good start would be in the coach built section, we did include the part number.
If you find it put a link in a post and I will put info in a Fact sheet, if I find it 1st I will post in fact sheets
It is a well known problem that is quickly overcome

Same happened to us. I thought it was the wind and it did relight each time. I'll also consider fixing an extra bit if it helps
Thanks

thanks all, seems like this is a common enough problem - cant think why AS didnt foresee it and fit the £3.75 part as standard

I found it necessary to use two of the extensions.
Fitting is easy once you can reach the flue to fit it. Doing it in the wind and rain is not fun though.
