Fiat Ducato 2001 Rivera 181 Water Leak
After the recent bad weather I checked on the van and found a water stain above the top bunk area to the left hand side. There are no windows on that side but I did find the external seal that sits inside the guttering had twisted in several places and had become hard. I pushed the seals back in and used silicone sealer over the top. Any advice would be appreciated.

I take it you've got rid of your Flair. I doubt anyone can help with problems with a Riviera as it's not an Autosleeper. Who makes the Riviera 181?

Apologies for posting in the wrong section. Yes sold the autosleeper flair and purchased the Rivera. CI made this model. Very happy with the van and good value for the money. Hope it might have been just the seal popping out of place. Previous owner bought it from the main dealer with a 3 year warranty. Unfortunately this is not transferable! I knew one of the salesman well from the dealer so I spoke to him prior to buying it. He assured me they would have gone right through the van and put right any issues with damp etc. Im hoping by replacing the seal and resealing should sort problem.

Sorry to pour water on a drowning man, Mex, but water leaks and CI? They go together in my experience. Never again CI for me. I hope you don't suffer as I have.
Bear with me as I explain my experience:- In September 2003 I bought my first new CI Cipro 55 from Davan, on a Merc 2.7 chassis, manual gearbox. Two years later it suffered water leaks in the roof, that turned out to be the wrong type of silicon sealant used at the factory to seal roof mounted ventilators.
Davan Caravans (at W-S-Mare) offered to have repairs done but, with me having lost confidence in the vehicle, sold me a replacement CI Cipro Garage, Merc 2.7 sprintshift gearbox model in October 2005. I lost loads of money there. Within three years this later vehicle suffered massive water ingress from the sidewall mounted fridge vents. This cost me £2,000+ for repairs because I hadn't been able to afford the habitation inspection costs that were applied at that time. CI, Davan and Black Horse Finance all denied responsibility for the repair costs!
Turned out that CI were still using the same silicon sealant compound as two years before! Having paid for all the repairs, of course I lost all faith in CI, Davan and BH Finance. The 'van was fine when I part-ex'd it, but I still lost a heck of a lot of money etc.
I then bought a 2nd hand vehicle. Four years of superb Fiat based Rapido later, I'm back to the luxury of Merc 2.2 Auto via A/S. This time around though, I'll pay for habitation checks in the future, to preserve my warranty, whether I can afford it or not, and hope I don't get problems.
Good luck with your repairs, but .....
