Hello & Information Please
Hi,
My wife and I are about to purchase a Peugeot Autosleeper Symphony, 2 berth, 2ltr petrol, 1996 model.
Any advise on what road tax we are likely to have to pay and which is the best insurance and also what mpg I can expect.

I have moved your post to the intro section where we like people to start.
Insurance as with cars is down to partly vehicle and partly your conditions but if you go to one of the specialists like Safegaurd, Caravanguard, Comfort & etc you "may" find the insurance cheaper than your car

Hi, and welcome to the forum we have a '95 petrol Symphony.
Whole can of worms this one, depends on many things, your age & experience, how many other vehicles you have, where you live etc.etc..
use the search function and read all what has been said on the subject.
Not the most economical vehicle but we wouldn't part with it

Again, depends on variables. Ours is our only transport so gets used for everything. short hops to the shops & around town = 18 - 20mpg. long journeys like holidays = anywhere between 25 to 30 depending on speed and roads.and also what mpg I can expect.

Re: Hello & Information Please
Welcome to the forum and here's to many happy hours in your motorhome. Can't help on the mpg as we run a diesel based model, however regarding the best insurance: this may depend on how/where you intend using it.
For example, Safeguard include within their premiums specialist AA breakdown cover within the UK and through much of mainland Europe, so if you intended having this cover anyway you'd have to remember to factor in that (otherwise additional cost) as part of your price comparison.
