Hi
Your Trooper should have a battery/water meter combined on the panel on the wardrobe. Has a previous owner been modifying it? If you can post a pic of what is there that would help us to explain.
Cheers

See what you mean, I think it would be a great idea to have a gauge.
I will have a look out, let me know (or the forum even) if you have any luck!

I have these:
Ebay item No 200537741230
In the van and on the bike. Not a gauge I know but they give you indication of the state of your battery and are very simple to install.

Leisure Battery Life Gauge
Have looked at the ebay item. The led changes colour from green to amber to red. I already have this indication via the water heater switch when running on gas. Is this not on other models? If you are running your water heater on EHU the leisure battery will be charging up anyway.

Re: lesiure battery life guage
On our van ( Symphony) pressing a button to activate the fresh water level gauge also activates the leisure battery condition meter. There are only two LEDs though one red one green. I have the Gammatronix unit wired to the "engine" battery though as I'm more concerned about the condition of that than the leisure battery.
They also do other types with multiple LEDs which may be closer to what the original poster was looking for.

ive got these i was thinking more of a proper gauge with a reading,of how much battery life is left not just led lights wich are giving you a light reading and roughly how much is in there!!

Re: lesiure battery life guage
Leisure batteries usually have a cell indicator in the casing - green indicates ok, black indicates discharged and yellow indicates that it needs to be replaced. It usually reads a middle cell but doesn't indicate the state of charge of all cells - only a hydrometer will do that.

Would this sort of voltmeter be suitable
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
or this battery condition meter
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
or do you just a standard type car dial voltmeter?
