2003 Headlight Bulb
Can someone please advise me how to change the nearside headlight bulb, I have changed the offside bulb with ease in the past, but the nearside has obstructions behind it.
Does the headlamp have to be totally removed ? If so how.?

Re: 2003 Headlight Bulb
Presumably they must have changed from the early Boxer. I changed my bulbs on the Symphony (97) to brighter ones without any bother. Haven't looked at the Nuevo (06) to see whats changed. I'll look over the weekend if I get a chance.

Thanks everyone, I'll take it a garage and pay through the nose.

I had a look yesterday and there is a fuse box behind the headlamp which makes it awkward but the spring clips holding the cover on are visible. I think it requires thinner fingers than mine and perhaps a pair of sharp-nose pliers. This is assuming yours is diesel.

Yes Paul it's a diesel. I think I've found the answer on a Peugeot Forum.
"You have to remove the centre plastic trim between the lights ( one with Lion badge) and then remove two srews on the light unit and prize the light units away from the body to reveal the conectors at the rear of the unit where all the bulbs can be reached."

I'm just glad I wasn't caught with a blown bulb while touring Scandinavia.
It's one thing carrying a set of spare bulbs to conform to the law, but if
you can't change the bulb you may get prosecuted.

Re: 2003 Headlight Bulb
I'm a staunch believer in that bulbs should be accessible to all owners. My VW Passat's handbook contains the words 'bulb replacement requires skill and should be left to your dealer'. What nonsense! No skill required, just double-jointed fingers and eyes that can see round corners. As a taxi driver I could be taken off the road with a bulb out but can you imagine the response from a main dealer 'certainly we can do that sir, a week next Thursday!' Luckily I have a great local mechanic.

Re: 2003 Headlight Bulb
Last year, I saw my neighbours car up on axle-stands, front L/wheel off, underbody bits all over the place, bonnet up, & again bits scattered all around, 'problems' say I, 'you could say that' he says, 'all this to change the headlight bulb'.
Can you remember years ago looking into most engine-bays, you could loose a football down the sides, or even shove a small child down there, take a look at some of them today, throw a penny in there & it will never be seen again!!

Re: 2003 Headlight Bulb
I finally managed to change the bulb today (yippee)
The only thing not mention in the above instructions is the two locating pins at each end of the headlamp.
On reassembly ensure the headlamp is pushed back until the pins locate in the plastic holders before screwing in the securing bolts.
To be honest, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Really must get a service manual.

Re: 2003 Headlight Bulb
I know you've done it now but if you want to upgrade your bulbs, Halfords are doing a special including fitting for £25 for their Super Brilliance bulbs, normal fitting £6.99 each and the bulbs are on special at £15.00 each (normal £19.95) so instead of £43.98 you get them for £25 fitted

Re: 2003 Headlight Bulb
It was a link to the checkout page to show the discount but it probably only held the info for a set period as I didn't press the reserve button.
