Symphony to Symbol Empty Symphony to Symbol

Post by Paulmold Tue Apr 15, 2014 10:51 am

Just out of curiosity, when did the Symphony cease and the Symbol begin. Just noticed on Ebay a 2000 Symphony and a 1999 Symbol. I thought the Symbol took over from the Symphony.

Paul,

I think they ran in parallel for a while, but not certain and can't say how long for.

I wonder why they bothered to run both at the same time.

Perhaps they were completing their order book of Symphonys while introducing the new Symbols? After all, if you had ordered a Symphony, that's what you'd expect your dealer to deliver.

Symphony to Symbol Empty Re: Symphony to Symbol

The 2001 Symbol I bought last year came with a contemporary brochure which has both Symphony and Symbol in it. The Heki rooflight in the Symbol seems to be the main difference. The Symbol also has a three burner rather than two burner hob. The brochure certainly proves that A/S were offering both models simultaneously.

The AS Boxer brochure for 1999 shows both side by side and the only difference in the spec. list is the Symphony has 'hob & grill/oven below whereas the Symbol has hob & Intergrill/oven below.

Thanks to all those who answered. It would appear the two models were made side by side until obsolete parts were used up.
