Topaz rear springs.
I have to replace the rear springs on our topaz has anyone done this? and where is the best place to get them? I would like to upgrade them to heavy duty springs and wonder what difference it would make to the ride. Thanks.

Seconded.
More info please,Why? T4 or T5?
Had them done on out previous Clubman(T4) by the VW dealer cos the 'tips' were broken off.
Not a MOT failure but recomended by tester as the breaks could act as stress raisers and who wants recovered due to a fractured spring.
They were heavy duty on the Clubman (2004)

rear springs
Hello
I have considerd changing the rear leaf springs on my frisky as they are single leaf and not good for pulling a loaded trailer. Have you thought of chainging to air ajusting suspension, ALKO make a kit that you can install and it runs from a 12 volt air pump and you can ajust your ride hide and softness. If I understand right its a german product and has a TUV certificate so should be a very good product.
Regards

Re: Topaz rear springs.
VW Van main agents in Ayr did mine to keep the VW service record up and to have the 2year warranty that VW give.
You need to go to the 'Van service' side of VW
All the VW springs are colour coded as to 'strength' and my suggestion that their service/parts people should be your first stop.
(given the chassis number my agents printed out a full build details list of my vehicle)
At least they will tell you the correct part no. and give a total fixed price for the job (when I had my discs & pads done as a fixed price job it took them almost twice as long to complete the work as the 'book' said, due to the difficulty in removing the brake pad retaining pins, but the price was as quoted in the first place.
Then you can decide how and where to get the job done, should you go ahead.
