Shower room door catch
Does anyone know where you can get hold of the part of the shower/toilet door catch from the fixed side of the door. It's just a 90 degree angle bracket made of brass (I think). The wooden block with 2 holes is still there.
It's on a 2000 Symbol.
I could try to make one by cutting down any old angled bracket, but if the correct part is easily obtainable that would be preferable.
Scott.

Scott,
I take it you mean the part screwed to the wooden block on the the door frame? On my 2001 (probably built 2000) Symbol it's brown plastic.

Useful to know, thanks. I just got the impression it would be brass from some complete sets on eBay.mikebro wrote:

Re: Shower room door catch
So Autosleeper got back to me to say they don't stock the part any more.
Since I now know it was probably plastic, I guess it might be possible to use one of those angle-blocks used in kitchen cupboards and the like.
I'll have a wander round B&Q and see if I can see anything that would do.

I know this is an old topic, but in case anyone else has the same problem, Dave recently replaced this part. He went to B & Q and bought a piece of 1" x 1" plastic right angle, and cut it to fit. It works a treat and privacy is restored!

I did the same on my Clubman a few years ago. I could thereby use different screw holes (the old ones didn't retain the little screws) but I could make the retaining plate to accommodate the warp in the door. Still works fine!

Is this it?

It's 2.4 metres long! The catch is only about an inch long, I'll look at hacking something from what I have lying around. My wife's always on at me for keep odd bits of plastic eg in case they come in handy ...

Isn't it the same (similar) as the small plate shown in this ad. You get 4 for £2.50 inc post even though you only need 1..

or just the plate alone, metal for £2.50 as well...

Go to your local plastic window fitters and ask if you can look in their skip. Well worth the cost of a packet of biscuits for them

Re: Shower room door catch
This is what I fitted to the shower door in my Peugeot Boxer Symphony:

It fitted almost exactly, even down to the screw holes.
